Our Big Surprise

Mom and Mickie got a big surprise when they decide to come visit.  The last 3 weeks we have been working on a remodel for our house and kept it a secret!  The porch got taken apart and redone, and now is going to apart of the house.  It has new walls, windows, door. raised flooring, and a vaulted ceiling (so we don't hit our heads!)  Shilo has been working on the electrical this week, and soon we will be tearing down the walls in the kitchen and living room.  When it is all done, you'll just have to visit to believe it!

Shilo's uncle Mike is helping us

we had to knock out the stucko and pour cement for support. (behind blake is wood slats that were under the stucko.  That's all gone now too.)

It looks way different now.  I've had lots of messes to clean up.  I know the people at the dump on a first name basis, and how many grandchildren some of them have!
Today i don't have an oven or microwave because they had to disconnect it to run new wiring.  Do you know how limited you are in cooking with out those two appliances!  I'm going over to JaLene's to cook my dinner.  And my peaches and pears are suppose to be coming soon!

Back to School

Yippee!!!  It's that time of year again.
Back to School night was the 15th.
Bryan's in 4th grade with Mrs. Stander at Rockford Elementary.

Blake's in 2nd grade with Mrs. Whittier at Riverside Elementary.

Caleb has PM Kindergarten with Mrs. Warren at Moreland Elementary.

Waiting for the bus!

First day of School.  I get to drop Caleb off at his school at 12:10 and then he rides the bus home with Bryan and Blake.
Now it is just Gavin, Aubrey, and Me!  Gavin was not happy when we dropped Caleb off, and he didn't get to go play on the toys.

I get a lot done with only 2 kids!!!!!

Aubrey's Ist Birthday

Aubrey turned ONE YEAR old!  Our theme of course was...Princess!
Cutie Pie

Her birthday banner

She got a Minnie Doll and shirts from my parents

She got two cute books from Shilo's parents.  Then we gave her a Little People Princess castle.

Her cake that had Hot Pink Frosting with pink sprinkles.  Then it had a little candle that said "Princess"  My dad asked if there was any other color than pink today?  NOPE
Aubrey was ready for a nap, so our pictures show that she was cranky!

Rachael said it best, "It's my Party and I'll cry if I want too!"
Princess party hats (yes Bryan an Gavin are wearing them!)
 Princess Pink Bubble Gum!
The boys are playing with her toys!  Hee-Hee
I can't believe my Baby's grown!

Colorado

We were off on another LONG DRIVE to see Brookie's family while Shilo went to meetings for work.  But we had a LOT of FUN!!!!!
The boys went to a Rockie's Game

Playing at the Library

Playing at a splash park

Fun in the Sun

a tour of the Hammond Candy Factory

A candy treat
Then off to the Children's Museum in Denver!  The kids just had a blast because everything was hands on and real to life.
Do you want to be a Firefighter?

Or learn about science

You could be a vet!

Or fly paper rockets!

How about experiment with bubbles?

It is fun to be in a Grocery Store!

Or make your own artwork.

and to top it off, playing with water!
We stayed 3 days with Brookie and had lots of fun.  Thursday night we met Shilo at his hotel in Fort Collins.  Then we all went swimming.
After all that fun, the boys were tired!
(How do you sleep 7 people in only 2 queen size beds?)

The kids traveled really well for the long drive.   But we've driven more miles this month than we might do in a whole year!  It has been worth it to see Kim and Brookie!
