Unusual Halloween

Shilo informs me that I haven't updated my blog in a while.

This Halloween was very unusual.  We got the flu and couldn't do much (Shilo's joke is that we all took turns being white as ghosts and spilling our guts!)
Luckily we went to mom's trunk or treat the Saturday before, so my kids don't feel too jipped.  We tried to have our own party that night doing simple games, like guess what I am. We had the kids dress up, but forgot to take pictures.  Any time that I ask someone to get in their costumes so I can take pictures, they say "Not right now."

Happy Harvest with our pumpkins!

(I met the Boogeyman, he's my brother!)  And his name starts with a G

We did carve pumpkins for Halloween

I took Gavin and Aubrey to the Library Story Time. (Aren't they so cute!)

We went to the Temple and walked around with our kids before we did a session. The boys really liked the visitor center.
In October, we had a girls only trip, with Mickie and Anna Belle, to see Grandma Johnson.  It was a really good visit.

I went with my friend Audra to the park, so she could take pictures for her photography class.  She took this picture and I just love it.  It looks like he is whispering to her.
Audra let Gavin help with the mudding.  He got it everywhere, but he thought he was pretty cool stuff to be such a big helper.
Well, We aren't doing much.  Just working on the house.  Doing our callings.  Kids in school and homework. I listened to Christmas music by the wood stove to get into the mood of the season.  I like change in seasons.

Remodel Update

The remodel project is coming along.  Here is what it looks like now.
Bryan helping out.  He is standing in the porch, I'm in the kitchen.  No more window.

It was seriously a HUGE mess!

This is the view of the living room.

No more Wall!

We are standing in the porch, this view is of the kitchen entrance.

New siding.  I thought I matched the colors close enough, but I was off.  But I like the lighter cream better, so we will either paint or eventually put new siding on the rest of the house.

Our Big Surprise

Mom and Mickie got a big surprise when they decide to come visit.  The last 3 weeks we have been working on a remodel for our house and kept it a secret!  The porch got taken apart and redone, and now is going to apart of the house.  It has new walls, windows, door. raised flooring, and a vaulted ceiling (so we don't hit our heads!)  Shilo has been working on the electrical this week, and soon we will be tearing down the walls in the kitchen and living room.  When it is all done, you'll just have to visit to believe it!

Shilo's uncle Mike is helping us

we had to knock out the stucko and pour cement for support. (behind blake is wood slats that were under the stucko.  That's all gone now too.)

It looks way different now.  I've had lots of messes to clean up.  I know the people at the dump on a first name basis, and how many grandchildren some of them have!
Today i don't have an oven or microwave because they had to disconnect it to run new wiring.  Do you know how limited you are in cooking with out those two appliances!  I'm going over to JaLene's to cook my dinner.  And my peaches and pears are suppose to be coming soon!
